Frequently Asked Questions
Have a question that is not answered below? Please email us on info@movenowproperties.com and we will get back to you as soon as possible.
Tenants are not legally required to have contents insurance, but we highly recommend it. The landlords insurance will only cover the property / goods, but not your possessions. Without contents insurance, if a fire were to occur in the house, your personal belongings would not be covered, and you could face significant losses. We strongly advise considering contents insurance to protect your possessions in such unexpected situations. Please contact us for details on companies who provide contents insurance and specialise in insurance for tenants.
Our contracts are usually for a minimum of 6 months and can be continued thereafter but some landlords may accept a short term contract depending on your circumstances.
If your property is managed by MoveNowProperties then you can email your enquiry to info@movenowproperties.com or contact us 01924 249349. If the property is not managed by MoveNowProperties you would contact your landlord directly. These details will have been provided to you at the start of your tenancy.
If we haven’t answered any of your questions please contact us 01924 249349.
From 6th April 2007, all deposits paid to a landlord or agent for an assured shorthold tenancy agreement in England and Wales, must be protected by a Government authorised Deposit Scheme. Movenowlettings.com is a member of the Deposit Protection Scheme.
Yes, a reservation fee is required when a landlord has given their approval for a tenant to proceed with a property. This fee is equivalent to one week’s worth of rent and serves as an advance payment towards the first month’s rent. Once the reservation fee is paid, we can mark the property as “let agreed” and begin processing the tenant’s application.
It’s essential to note that if the information provided by the potential tenant turns out to be false and the referencing process fails, the tenant will forfeit their reservation fee, which will be retained by us. Therefore, it’s crucial to provide accurate and truthful information during the application process to ensure a successful tenancy arrangement.
If you encounter an emergency situation outside of our regular office hours, we recommend reaching out to us by emailing info@movenowproperties.com. Our team monitor this email address, even during weekends and after office hours, to address urgent issues promptly.
However, please keep in mind that if we do not manage the property in question, you will need to get in touch with your landlord directly to address any emergency situations. It’s essential to use the appropriate contact method depending on whether we manage the property or not to ensure a swift and effective response to your needs.
